Viking seals UK distribution deal with Enimac

Viking Industrial has sealed a UK-wide distribution partnership with Italian-based Enimac and will market and sell its five-strong stable of state-of-the-art adhesive tape application machines.

Viking has established an in-house demonstration suite at its headquarters in Keighley, West Yorkshire, to showcase the Enimac range to potential clients across a multi-application end-user market, with the UK sign and point of sale industry a keynote target market.

In what represents a £50k investment, Viking has installed two tape application units – the XT Light 700 and XT Light 1000 - which are being used to demonstrate the latest technology for applying multiple strips of tape at up to 50 metres a minute on flat surfaces such as paper, cardboard, plastic and metal.

In addition, the machines also have the ability to apply tape to correx, foamex, acrylic sheet, plastic extrusion and aluminium composite - and can even be adapted to supply magnetic strip. The machines do not require compressed air to operate.

Viking’s sales and marketing director Colin Bennett regards the deal with Enimac, based just out Milan and part of Biemme Adesivi, as a real coup. Both firms are premier tape distributors for 3M, with Viking remaining the global technology giant’s leading online partner in the UK.

He explained: “We clinched the deal with Enimac because of our in-depth industry knowledge, our web presence and our long-time partnership with 3M. We are both family-run companies, with over 80 years’ combined experience in our specialist sectors, with a joint goal of achieving tape application automation.

“The Enimac range of adhesive tape application machines is versatile and flexible, offering both speed and precision accuracy to improve productivity, with the ability to cut and apply all types of adhesive tape via touchscreen inputs.

“Specialist features include the ability to accommodate the largest formats of offset printing and many formats of digital printing and up to six independently programmable patented “paste and cut” applicators.

“We feel confident the range will appeal to the sign and point of sale industry in what is essentially an emerging market in the UK – in fact, early interest from potential customers via our website is extremely encouraging.”
