Global adhesives brand Araldite has renewed its business partnership arrangements with South Staffordshire College for 2013 with two exciting new projects.

IT students at the College's campuses at Lichfield, Tamworth and Cannock will be working throughout the spring and summer on a viral game based around the bonding capability of Araldite adhesives while the business courses will be devising and carrying out some consumer market research. Jean-Luc Pieau is Araldite's marketing manager for DIY adhesives in Basel, Switzerland. "Our decision to continue the sponsorship of South Staffordshire College has been taken on sound commercial grounds. Last year we were able to get valuable feedback about our products from an age group which is important to our future and, as an added bonus, we enjoyed a significant amount of press attention working with the College's engineering and media students," he claimed. Rebecca Gater, Assistant Head of Faculty, ICT & Business at South Staffordshire College, will be acting as guide and mentor for the students. "We will be devising a project brief for the viral game on Araldite, detailing how we will create a buzz around the products bonding strength. South Staffordshire College's Director of Commercial Services, Michelle Dowse, says the partnership with Araldite is an example of the College's commitment to help its students to be work-ready when they graduate. "Working closely with businesses, both local and global, enables us to provide students with exciting projects to work on, while also teaching them about working to deadlines, working as part of a team, achieving objectives and project management. It combines learning with practical experience and that is a powerful element on any student's CV."
