Self-clinching studs in longer lengths and larger thread sizes
A family of RoHS-compliant large-sized self-clinching studs, which has been introduced by PEM, is intended for applications demanding high strength and reliable performance.
These robust clinch studs in lengths up to 152mm and thread sizes up to M14 offer a value-added capability allowing users to select from a wide range of variations to tailor fastener to application needs, says PEM.
The carbon steel or alloy steel studs typically will be specified for applications with especially high fastener torque out and pushout requirements. Their large-diameter and strong heads help reduce compressive stress on panels and develop full thread strength in service.
The studs install without welding using any parallel acting press or automated equipment and embed securely and permanently in metal sheets or sections as thin as 0.91mm. They can reliably attach components or assemblies in the agricultural, automotive and railway, construction, electrical, HVAC, and material handling industries.
