Rickshaw sponsorship aids charity - and sales!

Earlier this year JCS Hi-Torque sponsored a local couple from Sudbury, Suffolk, near to the company's factory, who had entered the 'Rickshaw Run', an Indian charity event in aid of the Mercy Corps. Starting in Cochi, southern India, on New Year's Day and finishing 21 days later in Kathmandu, every mile was covered in a three-wheeled motorised rickshaw.

During the trip the company's Hi-Grip hose clips were used to hold together the rickshaw's exhaust system. However, the run was completed without any major mishaps and £1114 was raised for the Mercy Corps which will use it to help equip local communities with the skills, ability, and confidence to help themselves out of poverty. The rickshaw carried a number of JCS Hi-Grip logos which attracted attention to the benefit of the company. At a refuelling stop the couple were approached by two businessmen from Dubai who happened to be visiting India on a business trip. Their enquiries about the hose clips were passed on to JCS which has been able to help them to locate the hose clips they required.
