The application – currently unique to the wholesale glass sector – is for a new energy efficient infrared glass panel radiator and has been adopted by Funkyheat following rigorous testing of several products from Viking’s 3M High Bond range.
The dual-purpose bonding requirement was to affix the rear holding bracket and the plastics consumer electrics box to the back panel of the radiator.
Viking Industrial’s technical specialist Craig Smith said: “After testing in-house products such as silicone adhesive sealants and other off-the-shelf adhesives, Funkyheat finally settled on our 3M VHB 4941, as its name suggests a very high bond and conformable acrylic foam tape that allows more complete bond contact area when bonding rigid or irregular materials.”
