A large number of new products are being showcased for the first time at this month's Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition – all of them opening up new design opportunities or improved production possibilities! Take the following for example:

Profil are unveiling two new product ranges which are a must-see for engineering teams working with metals: the REN nut is now available in thread sizes M8 - M16 and is intended for use in thicker gauge materials from 4.0mm upwards. Additionally, the company is launching its RSD round self-piercing nut, available in sizes M6 and M8 for materials up to 2.0mm thick Norbar is showing its new fully portable torque tool calibration equipment. TruCheck 1000 is an innovative new product which can be used 'in-situ' thereby eliminating the need for tools to be removed from their place of work and taken to a remote calibration facility. This is said to deliver considerable cost savings, to say nothing of eradicating the inconvenience often incurred by having to take tools elsewhere for routine calibration New adhesive application equipment is on show from Rheological. The company's HS900 reactive hot-melt PUR equipment dispenses from 2kg bags and headlines a wider portfolio of specialist equipment from this respected supplier Leading suppliers Zygology and Roy Hopwood Fasteners will be showcasing a wide range of products from some of the best-known fastener suppliers, including a new innovation in rivet nuts made by Italian manufacturers BBA. BCT (Bulge Control Technology, as featured in the last edition of FAST Magazine) opens up exciting new possibilities for rivet nut users by overcoming many of the 'traditional' limitations of standard rivet nuts and also offers exceptionally high strength: BCT can be used in conjunction with Grade 12.9 bolts tesa are showing their latest range of double-sided foam tapes. 62946 and 62948 are 300µm and 400µm thick and are said to be ideal for mounting small components on rough surfaces or where vibration might be encountered There are dozens more new products being launched at the show, making it a worthwhile event for manufacturing professionals of all disciplines to visit. The Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition takes place on October 29th at the centrally-located National Motorcycle Museum (adjacent to the NEC), and offers plenty of free parking right outside the door. Exhibition entry is free, and the Organisers have also arranged for currently employed manufacturing personnel who pre-register in advance to have the advantage of a £5 Complimentary Luncheon Voucher as well as a free Museum pass worth £6.95.
