MODULAR ROLLER TRACKS FOR LIGHT DUTY APPLICATIONS

1 min read

The Eleroll modular roller track system from Elesa includes hard thermoplastic and soft-touch elastomer rollers plus omnidirectional ball rollers. It is unusual in that it is supplied as lengths of modular track which can be cut down or simply clipped together to suit the installation on-site.

The track is suitable for relatively light duty applications dependant on channel support. It would suit the movement of UPVC doors and windows, for example. The system could also move boxes of goods, luggage, container bins, sub-assemblies and finished products in Kanban systems and conveyor transfer layouts. Typically this may include manufacturing situations between machining stations and storage locations providing stock mobility to feeding and discharging benches in construction, machining, storage and picking systems or packaging machinery for plate and panel handling. The system is based on a standard aluminium channel extrusion which accepts pre-assembled modular roller sets of polyamide or thermoplastic polyurethane with soft touch for delicate materials such as glass and wood as well as ball element sets for omnidirectional movements. Roller sets come in standard 270mm lengths which clip into the aluminium channel. The roller unit may then be fitted with end caps to enable clip fitting of longer runs together with container edging/side guides, brake sections and end stops. Standard channel is available in lengths from 270mm for one module up to 2970mm for 11 modules. Both the channel and modules are available from stock and may be trimmed to intermediate length enabling a custom unit to be rapidly produced and installed on-site. Roller sections may be mounted on their side with accessory brackets and supports so as to provide guidance where significant side loads are anticipated.
