Lock cylinders with curved keys – a cut above the rest

1 min read

One of the world's biggest mechanical security manufacturers, Abus has launched a range of euro cylinders, which have been installed in the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.

The Pfaffenhain system was specified for its high security level and its designer appearance. Normally available in polished brass or nickel, for larger projects the locks can be produced in any colour finish – in this case, the locks installed at the hotel were gold plated. As an additional benefit there are also padlocks which take the cylinders and can be easily added into master and grand master suites. The key benefit of the Abus Pf system is the control and management of locks and keys – they are virtually impossible to duplicate without the owners permission. This gives comfort to the customers as their security system is as good as it can be. This is achieved by each locksmith/ architectural ironmonger having special key cutting equipment for the unique, premium patent protected curved key profile and a special section unique to that stockist. There are three ranges of locks and keys available with varying levels of security and price to cater for all budgets. With its 14mm core, 6 pin tumbler mechanism and hardened anti drill protection, Abus Pf cylinders offer ultimate mechanical security, the company suggests.
