Henrob has over 30 years’ experience in the ducting industry, with the development of its C-frame a pivotal moment..

In that time, the company has been supplying self-pierce riveting equipment and self-piercing rivets to fasten flange onto ducting components. The self-pierce riveting process is popular within this industry, due to the high joint integrity and rapid assembly time. The rivet does exactly what is says – pierces its own hole in the metal, so there is no need to pre-drill or pre-punch holes and the riveting process only takes 1-2 seconds, says Henrob. There are also operator and environmentally-friendly advantages - no swarf, heat, sparks or fumes, low-noise and it's described as economical.

Henrob decided to develop a C-frame some years ago to access the components for fastening the centre-bracing on ductwork and has recently seen a surge in demand for this type of product, it reports. "We are able to rivet 2mm formed angle plus 3mm, 4mm and 5mm Rolled Steel Angle, saving hours of repetitive drilling and blind riveting and in some cases sealing," the company adds.
