The seals, it says, are not so much to protect the bearings, which are said to be generally insensitive to dirt and dust due to their composition of self-lubricating polymer.
“This is because the dirt does not remain in the bearing point for very long in most applications but can trickle through it,” the company says.
However, for very dirty construction and agricultural environments, the new SG03 range protects both bearing and the shaft underneath from wear and premature failure.
The dry, single-part felt insert does not require lubrication.
