Grey is the new friendly colour for welding electrodes

Since ESAB achieved ISO 14001 certification in 2006 for its approach to welding products manufacture, the Group has continuously reviewed its methods environmental impact reduction.

The company has recognised that some of the dyes used to colour electrode coatings can be environmentally detrimental.

The decision has therefore been made to remove the green dye used in the coating of the Murex branded Vortic Marine welding electrode. This dye is purely a recognition feature and does not contribute to the welding performance and properties of the product. The coating colour is being changed to grey and the new colour electrodes will be seen as stocks become available through distribution channels.
