When one of its aerospace clients threw down a challenge, Forgeway was quickly able to come up with the solution.

Industrial and adhesive, sealant manufacturer Forgeway was contacted by Jamco America earlier this year with a sample of material used on its interior seats. The supplier of Airbus and Boeing aircraft interior engineering services and products was having trouble matching this particular material to a sealant.

The colour was a metallic rose gold – and metallic colours are notoriously hard to match, as their colour changes depending on lighting. A previous solution was far from perfect: mixing paint with a clear sealant, and thus voiding any guarantees from the supplier and rendering the sealant ineffective.

Through Forgeway’s experience in creating its Formoa Colours range, it found the solution by adding a bespoke metallic pigment to the Formoa crystal polymer base, which resulted in a perfect match.

Each of Forgeway’s extensive range of products started life as a response to a client’s problem.
