Last weeks exhibition at the National Motorcycle Museum saw a near-record turnout of OEM professionals attending – just 2% down on the best-ever attendance at the event, despite the much publicised current economic climate.

According to the 'on the day' research in which almost 1 in 5 attendees participated, 96% of visitors said that their time at the event had proven to be useful. 18% of the visitors said that they had attended to meet a specific exhibitor, and 42% of all attendees had come to try and solve a particular fastening or assembly problem. Of those that came to try and sort out something specific, a massive 79% said that they had been successful in their quest. "This typifies the exhibition" said the organisers managing director Mark Newby. "The event is very much a working one, by which I mean a problem solving one. Whether the challenge is in design, production, pricing or the performance of a supplier, the visitors are telling us that they are meeting with success when they meet with the exhibitors". Interestingly, more than two in every three visitors also stated that they had made discoveries that they weren't expecting to find at the show. The next event takes place at the RAF Museum Cosford on 29th April 2009. More news about it follows in due course.
