FAST & IASE Exhibition NORTH a first-time success

On Thursday last week (26th April) manufacturing professionals attended the first ever dedicated fastening and bonding exhibition to be held in the North of England.

Although 95% of the audience attending came from what could be described as the 'home territory', the location of the FAST & IASE Exhibitions at the Pavilions of Harrogate didn't deter engineers with real fastening needs also attending from the other end of the country too: some visitors came from as far afield as Southampton. Exhibitor feedback reflects well on the reason for taking the events to the North for the first time: on average more than 85% of the visitors that were welcomed by exhibitors were brand new contacts for them, and these visitors came with a wide spread of applications to discuss that involved both mechanical joining as well as bonding and sealing. "Manufacturing professionals have never been tighter on time than they are now" said Mark Newby of exhibition organisers NewbyCom Ltd. "And with travelling costs escalating to an all-time high as well, we identified the need to take the exhibition to within easily reachable distance for the many manufacturing-based businesses based across the North that are actively involved in buying, specifying and using fasteners and adhesives. It worked. The audience could access all the latest information, key suppliers and new products much more easily than by making a long, expensive and time-consuming journey to a Midlands venue. And the exhibitors got to meet companies that they otherwise may never have had access to" concluded Newby. Moving the opening time from 0930 to 0830 also proved a positive benefit for both visitors and exhibitors alike with the majority of the audience in the venue by 1230. The next FAST & IASE Exhibitions take place at the hugely popular and centrally located National Motorcycle Museum on 18th October this year. Positioned just outside the NEC the venue offers abundant free parking, and the organisers have also arranged for a free bacon roll and brew to be waiting for all pre-registered visitors on arrival, as well as afree museum pass otherwise priced at £8.95 For more information email the organisers using mark@fastening-solutions.com
