The recently completed 3500 m2 warehouse near Oxford has been opened by Essentra Components, until recently known as Moss Express. The purpose built distribution centre at the company's principal manufacturing facility in Kidlington uses the latest technology, including wire guided forklift trucks.

Operating 24/7, the new facility will help ensure next day delivery for all products in the company's new 876 page catalogue, as well as acting as a hub for its European distribution centre network. While opening the new warehouse, Essentra chairman, Jeff Harris, commented: "This GBP7 million facility represents one of our largest investments in the UK, and provides much needed space for our rapidly expanding product range." In line with the company's environmental commitment to the ISO 50001 energy management standard, the warehouse is equipped with low energy LED lighting in combination with motion sensors to minimise power consumption. Essentra Components manufactures and supplies millions of small but essential components a year that play a critical enabling role in its customers' products. Typical parts include caps and plugs, feet and castors, and hinges and handles. Headquartered in the UK, Essentra plc's global network extends to 32 countries and has approximately 5500 employees, 42 principal manufacturing facilities, 64 sales and distribution operations and five research and development centres.
