Bosch launches two cordless impact wrenches

Bosch has expanded the Biturbo series for professionals. Among new 18V tools are two cordless impact wrenches. The specially developed, brushless high-performance motor has been optimally coordinated with the electronics and battery to exploit the full potential of the recommended ProCore18V batteries with 5.5 Ah or 8.0 Ah and 12.0 Ah.

This combination is what makes serial bolting possible in the first place, according Bosch. In addition, their features outperform current tools, such as the Biturbo GDS 18V-1000 C Professional and the GDS 18V-1050 HC Professional impact wrenches. The tools can be paired with a smartphone and offer craftsmen even more functions thanks to connectivity and a new user interface.

The GDS 18V-1000 C Professional and GDS 18V-1050 HC Professional impact wrenches offer added value to craftsmen thanks to the user interface on the tool and now also through smartphone connectivity functions. The main difference between the two is the tool holder, at ½-inch and ¾-inch, respectively.

Users can select three speed levels directly on the tool and thus have the best speed and torque control at all times. With the GDS 18V-1050 HC Professional, these are a maximum of 1,750 rpm and 1,050 Nm ‒ providing power and speed for demanding serial bolting with maximum screw diameters of up to M24.

Fitters in industrial, metal and timber construction can always see the battery and tool status thanks to the integrated LED that lights up based on the traffic light principle: “Green, Yellow, Red”. Both Biturbo impact wrenches also feature two modes which are pre-set for common screwdriving tasks in metal/mode A and wood/mode B.

In metal mode, the “Shut-off after time” function ensures that the impact wrench stops forward movement within one second as soon as the screw or nut is flush on the surface of the workpiece.

The ABR function, on the other hand, engages when loosening screws and switches off the tool as soon as the nut is loose. The nut is therefore not lost during disassembly.

In wood mode, in which wooden screws approved for impact drivers can be used, the “Auto shut-off” function automatically switches off the tool when the screw head is flush with the surface of the workpiece, thus preventing it from being damaged.

Each predefined function ‒ Shut-off after time, ABR and Auto shut-off ‒ can be further individualized using the Bosch Toolbox App and stored for later applications as “custom modes”. Fitters can therefore save time during repetitive serial bolting and always ideally set the tool to the specific application.
