Bonding a wide range of substrates

Hylomar has released product details of its HyloBond two component structural adhesives for bonding metals and some plastics.

HyloBond M511 is a toughened adhesive specifically designed for bonding a wide range of substrates. The product is claimed to have superior peel, shear and compressive properties, displays high toughness and can be used on gaps up to 5mm. The product should be mixed at a ratio of 1:1 to give cured tensile strength of 25 N/mm2. A second product, M5101, is a toughened acrylic adhesive designed for bonding a wide range of substrates. This product also exhibits excellent peel, shear and compressive properties and displays high toughness, the company claims. It can be used on gaps up to 15mm and has a gel time of approximately five minutes. The adhesive has excellent fatigue and weathering resistance, a mix ratio of 10:1 and a cured tensile strength of 16 N/mm2.
