Tennis relies on performance, momentum, dynamics and, of course, great service. So, it is fitting that standard components specialists norelem is supporting the 2018 MercedesCup as an official partner.
The MercedesCup is an ATP World Tour Masters 250 Event and takes place directly in the neighbourhood of norelem HQ in Stuttgart, Germany. Every year, tennis greats compete in this ‘Road to Wimbledon’ warm-up event and it is one of the sporting highlights in Baden-Württemberg.
The tournament, now in full swing, is one of the most important and traditional tennis tournaments in Germany, running from 9-17 June. And this year it celebrates its 102nd anniversary. For a long time, the tournament was played on sand, changing over to grass courts in 2015.
"Creativity and dynamics are not only found in tennis, but are also relevant for success in business life," says Marcus Schneck, CEO of norelem. Especially exciting at this year’s MercedesCup is the range of players. In addition to top stars such as Roger Federer, up-and-coming talent such as Chung Hyeon have been putting their skills to the test.
This mirrors another principle of norelem’s, as it has been active in promoting talent for many years. One of its initiatives is the norelem ACADEMY. Within the framework of this youth development programme, training and workshops for prospective technicians and engineers are made available.
