Versatile TIG welding for the craftsman

1 min read

Designed for use by the craftsman welder, the Murex Tradestig AC220 and AC220a compact TIG welding units are designed.

Tradestigs are claimed to be extremely robust with an impact resistant polymer casing, making them good for use in the toughest industrial environments including the farming, heating and ventilation, metal fabrication and oil and gas sectors. They are light and easy to carry and with IP23 protection can be used both outside and indoors. The Tradestigs are designed for quality TIG welding with all types of material of thicknesses up to five millimetres. They feature QWave technology for high arc stability and low noise levels in AC mode. True MMA welding characteristics are provided in both AC and DC modes including hot start, arc force and polarity switch (DC). Pre-programming and program change is possible during welding operations and an electrode preheating facility ensures easy weld starts and extended electrode life. The user simply needs to set the plate thickness on the control panel and the machine will do the rest. However, users can still control the welding current, slope down and post-gas manually. And the AC220A control panel has several advanced functions including Pulse TIG, AC balance, to control arc cleaning and penetration and AC frequency to control arc width.
