UV-curing adhesives

Techsil has added ITW Devcon's new range of high-performance structural adhesives to its portfolio of epoxy and methacrylate adhesives.

"Companies needing to bond difficult substrates such as glass, plastics, and dissimilar materials can do so in seconds without environmental or safety hazards using these ultra-violet light-curing adhesives", explains Andy Briars, sales director of Techsil. What is different about these products is that once the adhesive has been applied parts can be left for hours, if necessary, before the bond is formed. But once ultra-violet light is applied to the glue line the bond is cured within a few seconds. One of the adhesives in the range has been specially developed to bond difficult plastics such as abs, acrylic, and polycarbonates. Techsil will be exhibiting at the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Show, National Motorcycle Museum, 23 October.
