Torque sensors, actuators, etc.

New products from Kistler Instruments include: industrial torque sensors; pressure and temperature sensors and systems for injection moulding; mono- and tri-axial piezoelectric accelerometers; pressure sensors for high-pressure/high-temperature applications; sub-miniature pressure sensors for use in research, development, and industrial environments; and electric actuators with integrated force and linear sensors for press-fit assembly application which, Kistler's Jim Vaughan reports, will be especially highlighted at the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition at the RAF Museum, Cosford, on 30 April.

"These new actuators are very simple to install to meet specific application requirements. Unlike conventional hydraulic actuators they require only an electric supply and can be mounted horizontally and vertically. Changes in production can be accommodated easily and cleanly without major engineering work." Jim Vaughan also points out that the company has recently supplied force sensors and monitoring systems to ZF Steering Systems Nacam "to automatically ensure that adjustable steering columns for Renault Modus vehicles are assembled within strict specification".
