Structural adhesives improve design aesthetics
Described by Eurobond Adhesives as a two-part rapid bonding adhesive, Penloc VT is designed to bond most plastics, modern composites, metals, and wood in any combination.
It will cure to a handling strength in up to 15 minutes and to a working strength in an hour. "This makes the product ideally suited for bonding large surface areas", says Eurobond's managing director Simon Dearing.
"Penloc VT is used to bond large plastic substrates in the manufacture of vehicle body parts and styling kits, commercial signage, sheet metal fabrication, and the bonding of 'Big Head' fasteners to bulkheads in marine and automotive/transport applications."
Simon Dearing believes that when design aesthetics are important a structural adhesive will improve on more traditional mechanical fixing methods by eliminating the distortion and surface blemishes that are caused by welding, soldering, riveting, and fixing screws. "It also eliminates the need to refinish and polish welded work - particularly stainless steel - saving time and money."
