Self-tapping brass inserts

An addition to its range of self-tapping brass inserts has been announced by Tappex Thread Inserts

The Trisert-3 is designed for plastic and metal alloy applications and is offered in two grades of stainless steel and in case-hardened steel with an electroplate finish. "The standard Trisert range includes double-ended, reduced-headed, and regular-headed variants", says Myles Castaldini, application engineer. "These solve most application problems in thermoset and thermoplastic grades, including the latest engineering plastics. The concept of the design is to provide a reliable post-mould process in which the installation torque can be controlled and monitored. As the internal thread is used to install the Trisert every insert is, therefore, automatically checked in the moulding for the existence of a good thread." Trisert-3 is the latest addition to the family and has been developed "to expand the range into new critical markets and applications".
