Safety switching hinge

A new hinge from Elesa has a built-in security switch to suit Category 1 hazardous areas and serves to switch off equipment when a door or panel is opened in industrial environments to ensure operator safety.

Construction of the product is an integral glass-reinforced technopolymer unit which, says Elesa's Nigel Pritchett, ensures a tamper-proof installation and easy assembly. The CFS switching hinge, paired with the company's standard CFM hinge, provides 180º opening with switching operation over the range 4º to 15º. Two variants are available: the CRF-SH with countersunk screw fixings for optimum strength and security; the CVS-CH with slotted fixing for ease of adjustment. Each is offered with a top mount cable connection or rear-mounting connector and appropriate leads to suit machine control or status indication.
