Quick-release fastener suits hedge cutters
Fast Turn, a quick-acting fastener available from Unifast Fastening Systems, has been specified by the agricultural machinery manufacturer, McConnel, for use on its Power Arm range of hedge and verge cutters.
The fastener consists of a hardened steel stud, a spring steel or plastic retainer, and a slip-on receptacle that is clipped on to the opposing panel, completing installation in seconds.
"Fast Turn has strong anti-vibration qualities and requires only a half turn to operate", explains Unifast managing director Simon Beauchamp. "When undone the stud remains attached to the released panel so it will not be lost - a vital requirement."
McConnel, based in Ludlow, Shropshire, required a quick-release fastening system that not only met these requirements but would stand up to heavy-duty use.
