The products are described as being quick-release, quarter-turn fasteners for securing panels or components that have to be removed for servicing or replacement quickly and easily. "In its simplest form it consists of a stud held in a removable panel by a retainer, and a spring steel retaining clip permanently mounted to the framework of the equipment. A quarter turn of the stud opens the fastener; to lock, the stud is pushed back in to the clip."
