Pulsed arc micro joining machines

MacGregor Welding Systems has developed what it refers to as "the next generation of programmable pulsed arc micro joining machines with embedded process monitoring capability for lead-free termination of insulated wires to pins".

The range is available in 20A, 40A, and 60A models - all offer optional gas control. "These machines are suitable for a multitude of small wire coil terminal applications", reports Tessa MacGregor, the company's marketing manager. "The popularity of pulsed arc equipment is due to the fact that enamelled, stranded, or plain wires can be joined to a variety of connection pins without the need for pre-stripping or cleaning prior to the weld process." Key features include a colour screen, two-output and four-output options for automatic single or dual pulse weld profiles, an inbuilt memory for storing 99 different weld profiles, graphical information to show the weld profile, and a high and low limiter to control the amount of power used.
