Miniature linear actuator offers 250mm stroke length

Linear drive specialist igus UK has introduced a miniature linear drive system SLN 27 with optional NEMA 11 motor, to its popular drylin linear bearing range and has produced a video to show how it works.

Weighing in at only 69g and offering a maximum lubrication-free stroke length of up to 250mm, this minute linear drive system is particularly suited to simple handling tasks in confined spaces. Measuring just 22mm high by 28 mm wide, this compact system is extremely lightweight. Due to its plastic carriage and durable anodised aluminium rail, it is perfect for low load sensor adjustments, feed mechanisms and lightweight handling tasks that are typically found in today's sophisticated laboratory equipment. Depending on the application requirement, a variety of leadscrew types and pitches ranging from 0.8mm to 5mm are available to drive the carriage. The support bearings are also made from high performance maintenance-free plastics, thus providing a fit-and-forget solution.
