Calibration and maintenance time will also be reduced compared to conventional equipment. The system offers cooler cures than traditional UV systems, has no bulbs to change, no warm-up, and produces a constant light intensity for thousands of hours. Instead of traditional metal halide or mercury bulbs, the system uses an array of surface-mount LEDs, which produce visible light energy in a relatively narrow wave-band compared to a typical broad-band, high-pressure UV bulb. A broad range of one-part, solvent-free electronic materials which cure in seconds upon exposure to UV/visible light are available.
