Hinge helps to protect people

Many specialist racks, cabinets, and cases do not require sealing against water ingress because of their location.

But, says Andy Billingham, EMKA, they do need to be sealed for the protection of personnel. "The company's new 1110-SU123 hinge makes this possible with the added benefit of 180º door operation." The design of the hinge (to IPX3 standard) protects against fingers and large probes "by careful design and close tolerances in a simple cast construction. Door to frame gaps from 4mm down to 1mm are possible." Fitting to cabinet margins down to 25mm is possible and the hinge can be used either right-handed or left-handed. Installation is achieved using blind M6 screws on the door and countersunk M6 screws for the main body of the hinge. Finish of the 1110-SU123 is black powder coat. EMKA will be exhibiting at the Fastening & Assembly Solutions Show, National Motorcycle Museum, 23 October.
