High temperature resistant epoxy is UV curable

1 min read

Used for a variety of bonding, coating andsealingapplications in the optical, electronic and optoelectronic industries, Master Bond UV15 is UV curable and offers excellent light transmission properties and optical clarity.

This epoxy based system is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or other volatiles. It is also completely free of any oxygen inhibition. Like most UV systems, the material will cure quickly and easily when exposed to a UV light source with a wavelength range between 320-365 nm. It typically cures in thicknesses of a few microns to 0.015-0.020 inches in 15-30 seconds or less and cures by a cationic reaction and produces bonds that have lower shrinkage (1-2%) and higher temperature resistance than most UV systems. UV15 is resistant to a wide variety of chemicals including water, acids, bases, fuels and many solvents. It offers electrical insulation properties and low viscosity, whichallows itto be spin coated. Master Bondclaims the product has superior adhesion to a widevariety of substrates including plastics, glass and many metals. Watch a video on UV15 at http://youtu.be/LJoGPheDvdo
