Foam tapes fill 42mm gaps

New foam tapes for the building and construction sectors have been introduced by ISO-Chemie.

They are stated to be capable of filling joints of up to 42mm in prefabricated concrete, brickwork, curtain walling, and cladding panels. The Bloco range of pre-compressed 600 PUR (polyurethane) impregnated foam tapes incorporate fire-resistant qualities, says ISO-Chemie's Andy Bruce, and can be used to accommodate expansion and movement as well as providing gap seals for weather and air tightness, and remaining permeable to trapped water and water vapour. "Quick and easy to apply the tapes can handle temperatures between -30ºC and +90ºC and driving rain. They ensure that a building is protected against wind, dust, and moisture ingress by accommodating changes in structural movement caused by environmental, cyclical, and settlement factors."
