Dual bowl and turret tool system

PEM has announced the development of the series 2000 automatic press that accommodates a dual bowl option and the QX turret tool system "to allow quick and efficient changes between anvil tools while installing different types of self-clinching fasteners.
"The use of a second bowl and the turret tool system means that two fastener types can be installed in automatic feed mode and two in manual feed mode for streamlined job productivity and quality", says Michael Rossi.
Touch screen set-up for all four stations includes the selection of the installation force and the number of fasteners to be installed per workpiece. Operators are notified by visual and/or audible signal to rotate the turret to the next location or that the job is completed.
Among other features are a job search and recall mode that allows operators to reference up to 300 jobs and return to any one of them quickly; a programmable logic controller that accommodates custom programs; a wide feeder track for increased fastener feeding rates; and a support design that improves small fastener feeding.
