Compression Rings and Limiters

1 min read

Compression rings are primarily used for knob-to-shaft applications. They effectively eliminate the need for inserts and setscrews when used as compression limiters inside the bolt hole. This allows for faster and easier assembly at the same time reducing the cost.

The compression ring squeezes firmly around the bolt, pressure is distributed evenly around the shaft of the bolt ensuring that stress and wear are greatly reduced. Compression limiters are designed to be inserted into the panel hole before screwing through it to prevent soft plastic panels from creeping when fastened. A self-retaining limiter can be pre-assembled into the hole through spring tension. Compression limiters are well suited for use with flat head screws and washer, if necessary.

Compression limiters from SD Products come in two shapes – round and oblong. Round limiters fit tightly inside the panel around the bolt or screw and help to prevent damage to the plastic component. Oblong shape absorbs assembly tolerances. Both shapes provide a safe, secure and reliable assembly.

Manufactured from high quality carbon steel compression rings and limiters are highly durable, making them ideal for a large variety of practical applications. Widely used in the automotive industry, machinery and even for domestic purposes they are, without a doubt, extremely widespread.

Compression rings and limiters are available in a variety of sizes, depending on the application. For more information please contact our sales team or visit SD Products website www.sdproducts.co.uk
