CLOCK-TYPE SPRINGS

For over 100 years EMO clock-type springs have been the first choice for re-winding and counterbalancing applications and are now produced in a wide range of sizes and materials including exotic nickel alloys. Open-coiled, close-coiled and pre-stressed close-coiled designs are all available to meet every possible application.

These are so named from their original use for storing energy from which clocks were driven. They have since found many other applications, particularly in re-winding and counterbalancing systems. This type of product essentially comes in three forms: open coiled where only a few turns are required, close coiled, and close coiled pre-stressed, where a greater number of turns are needed. The choice of design depends on several factors.Ourtechnical team has many years of experience designing solutions to meet customers’ needs and will be pleased to advise on the appropriate product.
