Adhesive tapes provide seal in air pressure test
Working with the construction industry, Ideality Consultants has recently shown the importance of air tightness and air permeability in timber frame construction.
A block of flats, still under construction, require an air pressure test to just part of the timber shell.
Ideality Consultants provide technical assessments in a range of services and for this project provided guidance and recommendations for implementation into the project, offering straightforward and economical risk reduction. The development team paid particular attention to the importance of junctions, sealing and product specification to ensure the design targets have been achieved. Air tightness has been ensured by the use of a vapour control barrier sealed with construction adhesive tapes designed and manufactured by Lohmann Technologies UK.
The construction adhesive tape was also used to seal timber to timber junctions providing critical air tightness barriers.
