Technology and product guides detail electrically and thermally conductive adhesives

1 min read

Two new guides from Intertronics offer an introduction to the Electrically conductive adhesives and thermally conductive adhesives produced by Polytec PT. Each guide gives a descriptive overview of the technology involved and related product applications in industries such as microelectronics, electrical engineering, power engineering and general energy.

Next generation technologies are introduced, says Intertronics. Conventional electrically conductive adhesives are based on epoxy resins, which are available as two components or pre-mixed and deep-frozen as a single-component variant. In order to attain their optimal conductivity, these products must be cured at a temperature of at least 100°C. The guides show a number of innovative products including ones which can be cured at room temperature and/or are characterized by excellent flexibility. New applications in energy and electrical engineering require ever higher levels of thermal conductivity, and so the guides describe a new generation of thermally conductive adhesives with a thermal conductivity of 1-4 W/mK or more.

The guides cover processing needs and temperature and mechanical properties of the wide range of Polytec PT product possibilities. Intertronics application engineers are available to assist with product selection and guidance on evaluation.

The guides may be downloaded from the company’s website.
