Technical support provides adhesives benefits

1 min read

Increased innovation and new product development in packaging is driving the demand for bespoke adhesives with unique characteristics.

This is the view of Colin Walton, industrial adhesives business manager for Bostik. "The company is promoting the idea that in situations in which a customer is looking to develop a new product that requires an adhesive Bostik can advise on the best solution. Our technical support team works alongside customers in the development of new adhesives, assessing the requirements and then carrying out production trials. "We continue to work alongside the customer long after a product has been developed." Colin Walton points out that if an adhesive is in use and is not meeting production requirements Bostik will audit current production identifying issues with the product or the plant and, if appropriate, creating a new adhesive with the necessary qualities to meet production needs. "This support is a valuable resource for customers." As part of its regular review programme Bostik carries out production line audits and provides feedback on potential improvements. "Often, it can be a case of making minor adjustments to the line in order to optimise the use of adhesives, reducing wastage or making an adhesive work more efficiently."
