Sika Automotive is participating at the Joining In Car Body Engineering Conference being held in Bad Nauheim, Germany, from 4-6 April.

Representing Sika’s continued involvement with the ongoing series of Automotive Circle Conferences is Urs Rheinegger, a global technology manager for Sika Automotive Body Shop Adhesives.

He will be presenting at the conference in partnership with Dr Li Wang, a joining technologies expert at Jaguar Land Rover on the topic of 'Development and application of a new structural adhesive for JLR lightweight vehicles'.

They will explain the advancement of adhesive technologies in regards to the sealing and bonding of aluminum and steel in JLR models (Jaguar XF, XE and F-Pace) using SikaSeal and SikaPower. As the need for joining lightweight materials grows, Sika and Sika Body Shop products offer many technical solutions.

These solutions include: retainment of body strength and stiffness, improvement in durability and crash test performance, protection against galvanic corrosion and prevention of distortions due to different thermal expansions of mixed materials (Delta Alpha effect) leading to Bond Line Read-through (BLRT).

Additionally, Sika Automotive will display: SikaPower-497, SikaPower-498/3 and SikaSeal-710 LS, along with new innovations during the three-day event in Bad Nauheim.

The Joining In Car Body Engineering Conference brings together technical experts and key stakeholders of the automotive industry, including OEMs such as Audi, BMW, Daimler AG, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Opel and Volkswagen. This is Sika’s second consecutive year presenting and exhibiting on advanced technologies for vehicle assembly at the conference.
