The move – to Unit 11, Melchett Rd, Kings Norton, Birmingham – was prompted by the greatly increased sales of mechanically attached fasteners (pierce or clinch nuts and studs) in the UK market, specifically for automotive OEMS and their tier suppliers of sheet metal components for vehicle body applications and vehicle sub systems.
Profil now has more than 200 sorting and feeding units operating in customer press shops and body assembly areas, installing more than 150 million nuts and studs per year.
The new location enables Profil to stock additional spares and some fasteners for customers, and to offer training and demonstration facilities to its customers.
Further down the line, the new facility will accommodate other Penn Engineering companies, such as Penn Auto and Heyco fasteners, to serve the UK market.
