1 min read

Master Lock Europe has launched a new Lock Out – Tag Out (LOTO) device designed to immobilise angled lever butterfly valves commonly found in processing and manufacturing facilities. The patented design speeds the lock-out procedure, it is claimed.

The S3920 Butterfly Valve Lockout is used in conjunction with the S806 Cable Lockout and features a unique patented design which allows it to fit virtually any kind of valve lever. Fully adjustable from 3cm to 4.5cm, the S3920 provides a single solution to a wide variety of LOTO challenges. To use, the S3920 is simply inserted between the valve lever arms and secured in place using the S806 Cable Lockout and a suitable LOTO padlock, such as the popular Master Lock 410. The unit is made from tough Zenex thermoplastic which is light, yet highly resistant to a wide range of commonly-encountered chemicals, such as silicon oils, hexane, solvents, bleaches, dilute acetic acid and naptha. A stainless steel pivot pin delivers excellent corrosion resistance, and the unit is capable of operating from -40°C to +93°C, making it suitable for extreme conditions, inside or out. The lock out device is available individually or as part of a set comprising the S3920, the S806 Cable Lockout Device and a 1 metre steel cable. Founded in 1921, Master Lock claims to be the world's largest manufacturer of padlocks. The company caters for a wide variety of markets and has been responsible for numerous innovations, including the invention of the laminated steel padlock.
