Hygienic knobs and handles

The Elesa series of hygienic knobs and handles in stainless steel come with FDA-compliant sealing.

This compliments their established adjustable levelling feet to complete a series ideally suited to medical, pharmaceutical, food processing and related industrial applications.In fact, all those messy situations where frequent aggressive cleaning is required to prevent the build-up of bacteria and dirt in general.

"These Elesa clamping knobs, grip knobs, lobe knobs, grab/bridge handles with matching finger-operated screws and nuts exemplify best practice in hygienic design principles," says the company, combining, as they do, finishes in AISI 316L, either matte sandblasted or mirror polished stainless steel, together with H-NBR blue FDA-compliant seals.

Hygiene also plays an increasing role in other industrial areas, from the pharmaceutical industry to the manufacture of paints and dyes. Nowadays, a major issue is the manufacture of products without added preservatives or with as few added preservatives as possible, while still achieving a long shelf life.

However, this can only be achieved in a production environment in which all risks of contamination with microorganisms or dirt are excluded. For plant construction, this means that all components, elements, as well as surfaces, must be designed accordingly. Contaminants must not accumulate and must be easy to remove.
