Hand tool gives glass partitioning the edge

The recently introduced tesa ACXplus 705X range of double sided tapes for bonding glass partition walls in premises has already caught the attention of the construction and building supplies industries.

The tesa edge applicator has been introduced to facilitate manual processes in delivering optimal results on glass partition walls. Once glass edges have been cleaned, the hand tool ensures quick assembly of glass partitions, allowing the tape to be easily applied in a straight line to one edge of the glass. To achieve the best results, tesa also recommends using a pressure roller during application to ensure good adhesion and to avoid air bubbles. Today's modern construction designs utilise a variety of transparent materials that provide crisp and clean finishes. This is especially true for glass wall partitioning, where manufacturers are tasked with producing aesthetically pleasing yet functional wall units. The ultra-transparent ACXplus 705X family creates an invisible bond on many slim designs and different substrates such as glass, polycarbonate, aluminium and more, tesa claims. With thicknesses of 1.500µm and 2.000µm respectively grades 7056 and 7058 are pure acrylic double-sided tapes, which in addition to high bonding power offer high UV, temperature and solvent resistance. The edge applicator is suitable for 6mm tape (for 10mm glass) and 9mm tape (for 12mm glass). This new category of double sided tapes consists of a high performance acrylic system that outperforms most conventional fastening methods like silicone.
