ExxonMobil, the second largest oil company in the world, has granted an approval for the supply of Super Duplex Fasteners for use on offshore Helipads.

Manufactured in the UK by West Special Fasteners, a hot forging specialist, the Super Duplex Fasteners achieved the approval after over a year of product testing, inspection, witnessing, documentation and system reviews.

The approval is for the hot forging of the bolting system and ExxonMobil have only approved a few companies in the world to carry out this work. West Special Fasteners has been one of the largest producers of fully tested Super Duplex Fasteners in the UK, delivering over 40 tonnes of bolting in 2013 and 2014.

"This approval confirms West Special Fasteners position as a manufacturer that can supply Super Duplex Hot Forged fasteners to the highest standards in the world," claimed James Hawkins, commercial director. "Customers looking to source super duplex fasteners for critical applications can be assured that our fasteners are tested to the highest standards offering complete peace of mind," added Sonja Skelton, the company's sales manager.
