FAST EXHIBITION RACES TO SILVERSTONE

Readers will not want to miss a workshop seminar on adhesive & coating dispensing to be presented at the forthcoming FAST Exhibition on 22nd April 2015 at the Silverstone Circuit

Speed, accuracy and repeatability in the application of adhesives, protective coatings and other liquids can present problems to technology manufacturers, especially in a world where miniaturisation is a trend. Some insights will be given at the seminar Adhesive & Coating Dispensing – Meeting the Challenges of Technology Manufacturing at the FAST Exhibition on 22nd April, Silverstone Circuit, Northamptonshire.

During the session, delegates will hear about equipment selection factors and choices, process validation and quality assurance, and the latest positive displacement and jetting technologies. The knowledge gained can impact on product quality and cost reduction.

The workshop will explore the idea that adhesives and protective materials can only do their job if applied in the correct quantity and location. Couple that need with the demands of production speed, the ever finer tolerances and repeatability required for quality, and the increasing miniaturisation of technology-based products and the challenge gets tricky. Materials may have multiple parts, filler content, difficult rheology or limited working life. Deposit volumes can be fractions of a millilitre. The process needs to be robust, consistent and able to be validated.

The seminar will be delivered by Peter Swanson, managing director of Intertronics. He explained: "Having spent 25+ years working with adhesives and protective materials in technology manufacturing, my colleagues and I have shared the experiences of many customers' application projects. By melding the engineering expertise of the team and from a range of leading edges suppliers and partners, we deliver dispensing systems which meet the needs of the sector, and are able to pass that on to our customers."

Other papers will be presented by Chris Gorvin, director Anachrome Group, Lee Parnell, managing director of Preston Technical in association with Billy Brady, senior specialist at 3M and Dr Hans-Albert Stadler, AFSR European customer engineering director with his colleague Jonathan Craven, operations manager both of Alcoa Fastening Systems & Rings.

Seminar places can be booked online.
