Expansion prompts move

1 min read

The Yorkshire office and warehouse of European Springs & Pressings is relocating to a new purpose-built facility in Huddersfield

The move is a direct result of significant expansion over the past decade, increasing capacity and capitalising on enhanced transportation links, with easy access to J23 and J24 of the M62, offering greater efficiencies within the logistics chain.

“This development is very exciting for the organisation. Leaner logistics and increased storage facilities now ensures long-term competitiveness for our customers," said Michael Gibbs, managing director of European Springs & Pressings. “We import a number of our gas and standard stock springs from our parent company’s factories in Europe. Previously, restrictions on space made it difficult to store the 12,000+ lines of catalogue products we make.

"Our new increased storage capacity will allow us to import larger volumes and hold an enhanced stock range, therefore decreasing the timeframe from order to delivery and dramatically reducing the associated costs. As a result, we will soon be able to offer a 24-hour delivery service and these cost savings will be passed directly on to our customers.”

Gibbs concluded: “Incorporating all previous operations under one specialist roof also offers greater expansion opportunities in to new markets. The new facility at Spring Moor in Huddersfield is a perfect destination and we look forward to quickly establishing ourselves in the community and contributing to its economic success.”

The site will be live from June 2017 and fully operational from August 2017.
