Everything but the wall-mounted enclosure

For many years, the EMKA slogan has been ‘Everything but the Enclosure’ – intended to convey its commitment to providing enclosure hardware.

This is so that specialist metal workers and panel makers can manufacture high quality enclosures that suit the needs of the electrical controls industry and the many other related industries that share the same physical protection criteria for personnel and equipment – ‘encapsulated’, as it were, in the IP rating system.

To this end, EMKA has developed a very focused modular approach to quarter-turn locks, also for hinges, as well as gasket sealing strips – together, these form a complete component package for wall-mounted enclosures, encompassing both lay-on doors and recessed construction, with the possibility for sealing levels from IP44 to IP55 and IP66.

In particular, EMKA focuses on the programme 1000 wing knobs in non-locking or locking variants to IP65 and available in chrome or black zinc die, as well as black polyamide.

A locking door needs hinges, of course, and for wall-mount enclosures the 1069 series concealed hinges are said to be ideal for lay-on door enclosures. These may be fixed with studs, machine screws, weld studs or welded on. They feature easily removable hinge pins and 120° opening.

Sealing completes the door installation and here EMKA offer the 1016 self-adhesive closed cell rubber gasket strip in sizes from 10mm x 3mm up to 80mm x 40mm.

“In three simple steps, EMKA enables the custom/OEM enclosure builder a purpose-built package to complete most common types of wall mounted enclosure,” it states.
