Every gram counts in aviation design

Norma Group, a global market leader for engineered joining technologies, has presented its offering of joining and fixing solutions for the aviation industry at an international aerospace supply fair in Frankfurt am Main.

Norma Group has been designing solutions for the European aviation industry for the past 30 years. Its clamps with elastomer cushions Normafix RSGU are suited for fixing cable strands in the fuselage as well as metal and plastic tubes in the entire aeroplane. They are particularly lightweight and easy to install. Their robust design ensures durability and cost-efficient, automated production. Cable strands and tubes can also be fixed using Norma Group's plastic clamps Normafix Red Grip and Normafix C Grip. They have been designed to optimise weight and costs, since material has been deliberately saved in places where it is not needed for product functionality. The permanently integrated silicone pad protects cable insulation by decoupling oscillations caused by vibrations. The silicone pad, which is securely mounted in the two-component injection moulding process, eliminates the need for special tools: the plastic pipe clamp can be fastened quickly to the cable or pipe with just one movement of the hand. Norma Group's fluid systems are used to transport drinking water in the galleys or lavatories. They have a modular design with push-fit fittings for leak-free transportation of water and can be pre-moulded to make assembly particularly easy and error-free.
