Double accreditation success for Scotch-Weld
Two further products in 3M's range of Scotch-Weld Cyanoacrylate Adhesives have achieved a key standard used in the defence industry.
Cyanoacrylate adhesives, MC40 and MC1500, have both achieved British Standard BS7969:2004 for ethyl and methyl cyanoacrylate adhesives. These accreditations follow similar success for 3M Scotch-Weld Instant Adhesive EC100, which is a general purpose, medium-setting, low viscosity instant adhesive.
Faye Wilson, Business Development Manager for 3M Scotch-Weld Adhesives, commented: "The fact that these three products are now accredited means 3M can offer an independently tested and approved cyanoacrylate adhesive solutions for virtually all requirements. It's another clear demonstration of the quality and performance characteristics of 3M's Scotch-Weld range."
MC40 is a medium viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate based adhesive, specially formulated for bonding metals as well as plastics, rubbers, metals and other common substrates. It is ideally suited for use on assemblies with close fitting parts and smooth, even surfaces.
MC1500 is for similar applications but is a high viscosity product with excellent gap filling capability.
