"Enhanced functionality and aesthetics can be achieved with customisation of existing products or start-from-scratch original designs. Locks and handles tend to be the subject of such individual design projects, but hinges also often need to be custom-made. The Corporate Design Team can draw on the resources of international manufacturing in plastics, die-cast, fabricated metals, forming, injection moulding, stainless steel, and associated processes." Andy Billingham also states that by working in close co-operation with a customer's own design team "significant advances in locks, handles, and hinges can be produced to offer easier use, improved performance, and co-ordinated styling"
